Hwa Rang Do

My own inkling has always been towards Japanese Martial Arts, however, it wouldn’t hurt to look into other origins for wisdom. Below, you will find the Ancient Hwarang’s Code of Ethic from Korea1, the martial art in question is Tae Kwon Do.

  • Loyalty to one’s King and Country: This emphasizes the importance of serving one’s nation and upholding its values.

  • Loyalty to one’s parents and teachers: This highlights the importance of filial piety and respect for authority figures.

  • Trust and brotherhood among friends: This emphasizes the importance of camaraderie, loyalty, and support within one’s social circle.

  • Courage never to retreat in the face of the enemy: This focuses on bravery and determination in the face of adversity.

  • Justice never to take a life without a cause: This emphasizes the importance of restraint and only resorting to violence when absolutely necessary.
